The 4-month-old became "lethargic" and was rushed to the hospital.

Former Beauty Queen Charged With Child Abuse After Breastfeeding Her Baby While on Cocaine

Former beauty queen and TV news reporter Krystin Rae Lisaius has been charged with child abuse after breastfeeding her 4-month-old just 12 hours after doing cocaine.

Along with her husband, Somchai Lisaius, and a friend identified in the police report as Thomas, the 26-year-old snorted cocaine on the night of May 14 after returning home from a get-together. According to the New York Post, after putting the baby to sleep, Krystin then did "one line on the master bathroom counter top … through a rolled up receipt."

When she breastfed the baby the next morning, the child became "lethargic and very difficult to wake." They then rushed the baby to the hospital, but when medical personnel said they'd need to take a blood test, they left with the child against advice of staff. The parents later brought the baby to a second hospital, where they again refused a blood test. However, the staff were able to determine via a urine sample that the child had cocaine in its system.

Social workers and police then interviewed the couple, and while both initially denied ingesting the drug, Krystin eventually admitted that "she didn't think the baby would be affected after approximately 12 hours." Police also found cocaine residue throughout the couple's home and a bag containing approximately 1.58 grams of the drug.

The couple have been charged with child abuse, possession of a dangerous drug, and drug paraphernalia. They have pled not guilty.
