A homeless man plans to turn his life around after winning $500,000 (£332,000) on a scratch card.
Michael Engfors, who has been sleeping rough for six years after he lost his business and went through a divorce, scooped the prize on a £10 ticket.
The 61-year-old says he now plans to use the money to reconnect with his estranged daughter, who he hasn't seen for over 20 years.
Jeremy Kowalis, who works at the Aspen Homeless Shelter in Colorado where Mr Engfors has been staying, said: "It couldn't have happened to a better person."
Speaking to NBC station KUSA, he added: "Michael has seen a bottom that has pushed him right to the edge, but he never gave up.
"He knew that if he kept pushing on, eventually his luck would change."
The Colorado Lottery said the odds of hitting the top prize in its Eternal Splendor scratch game are 840,000 to 1.
