This genius invention puts the weather forecast in a box for you. You’ll never be caught without your umbrella again thanks to this little box which recreates tomorrow’s weather forecast in your living room – with actual rain and storm clouds.

This little box will show you tomorrow s weather by recreating it on your living room table

Yeah, you can get an app for that but it won’t look anywhere near as cool on your bedside table.

The Tempescope is the brainchild of Ken Kawamoto – software engineer by day, gadget genius by night – and is part of his plan ‘break the barrier between the digital world and the real world.’

The microcosm in a box can create real raindrops and clouds, and simulate thunder storms, lightning, and glorious sunshine to show you the weather forecast, or the real-time weather, in your living room.

So, it’s perfect if you live in a basement/cave, or if you’re always being caught out by the weather.
The gadget takes hourly forecasts from your computer or smartphone using a wireless connection, and then sets about recreating the meteorological conditions in a tiny confined space.
It contains a water pump, mist diffuser, and LEDs to create all the special effects, plus an Arduino microcomputer to control everything.

The only thing it won’t recreate is snow because, well, Ken’s from Tokyo and they don’t get much snow there.
Ken plans to crowdfund the Tempescope later this year (you can sign up here to be notified when he does), but if you’re technically minded, he’s helpfully released instructions on how to build your own here.

Can someone build us one while you’re at it? Please.
