A woman apparently lost the ability to move her fingers after using her smartphone constantly for a week.

Smartphone addict couldn t move fingers after using device for a week

The incident occurred in the city of Changsha in Hunan province, central China.

According to local media the woman, whose identity hasn’t been revealed, had taken a week off from work and spent the entire time using her smartphone, taking breaks only to sleep.

She began to feel severe pain in her right hand and noticed that she wasn’t able to bend her fingers.

She was rushed to hospital where she was examined and diagnosed with tenosynovitis,

an inflammation of the fluid-filled sheath which surrounds a tendon, typically leading to joint pain, swelling and stiffness.

She was treated and is now reportedly able to move her fingers again.

Her doctor advised her to regularly rest her hand when using such devices.
