Energetica, a Cochabamba, Bolivia-based energy development institute with a mission to improve the quality of life in rural and marginal populations has been providing micro hydroelectric and solar energy solutions to populations too small and too far to be serviced the country's electric grid.
Since 1993, it has completed more than 100 projects, and Sustainable Bolivia claims in its website that Energetica has helped over 10,000 families directly and more than 68,000 indirectly, with solar power covering up to 98% of the az family's energy needs. Access to power is changing the lives and futures of those living in isolated communities.
According to Sustainable Bolivia, Energetica provides technical assistance to all enterprises seeking eco-friendly alternative energy methods, but places an emphasis on those living in rural communities. It focuses on the socio-economic situation of its clients, and teaches alternative energy uses to improve lives in a sustainable manner.
