At least 23 dead and 27 missing are what Tropical Storm Nate left on his way through Central America. Costa Rica was the most affected country with about 7,000 refugees, floods, and irreparable damage to property.

Storm Nate leaves more than 20 dead in its passage through Central America

The storm described as the worst natural disaster in Costa Rica, killed eight people and 17 disappeared, local media reported.

In this regard, the Costa Rican president, Luis Guillermo Solis declared yesterday a national emergency in the care of the homeless refugees in 95 shelters.

An estimated 400,000 people were left without water and electricity because of Nate.

While in Honduras, the authorities announced the death of three people and the disappearance of three others; in El Salvador, one lost his life in a mudslide and in Niguragua 11 fatalities are recorded at the moment.

According to the US National Hurricane Center, after thrashing the Central American region, the storm is heading to the Yucatan peninsula, where it could impact in the last hours of this Friday. While in the American coasts the weather phenomenon could arrive the weekend.
