A mum-of-two was horrified to bite into a KFC chicken thigh and discover the meat was raw and covered in BLOOD.
Disgusted Hannah Schofield paid £15.99 for a 14-piece family bucket with partner Ashley Spalding before taking it home to eat - but got more than she bargained for.
After chomping down on a few pieces the couple placed the leftovers in the fridge to enjoy with their children, aged six and two, the next day.
But when Hannah, 23, got the bucket out again and bit into a chicken thigh she immediately tasted blood - and her stomach churned as she realised the food was raw.
Hannah, a shop worker from Anstey, told the Leicester Mercury : "When I realised what we were eating I was absolutely horrified.
"It was disgusting. We have both had bad bellies for the last day or so. It's just not on - most definitely not 'finger lickin' good' that's for sure.
"It was strange because the drive-through was really busy and when we ordered our food we were told there would be a 10 minute wait.
"The server advised us to park up, but then when we passed the till they said our food was ready. They must have just whipped the chicken in, got it out and served it to us.
"On the drive home everything seemed fine. The bucket of chicken was hot.
"When we got in, we ate a few pieces and put the rest in the fridge. It wasn't until the next day that I went to eat some and my stomach churned.
"I could taste the blood, it was terrible. I thought 'oh my god' - I couldn't believe it."
Hannah and Ashley, 25, complained to the restaurant and were offered a replacement meal for free but they refused - vowing never to eat in KFC again.
Hannah said: "I was told I had to come in later and bring my receipt. We went in that evening and took the chicken with us, but at first I wasn't offered a £16 refund.
"The member of staff said I'd have to come back when the manager was in.
"They said I could have a replacement meal on the house but I told them I would never be eating Kentucky Fried Chicken ever again."
A KFC spokesperson said: "We're very surprised to see this, as we have strict procedures in place to ensure the quality and safety of our food.
"We've not received any other similar customer complaints for this restaurant, but will be investigating this urgently.
"We're really sorry for Hannah and Ashley's experience, so offered them a replacement meal and refund in restaurant."
