According to the r/LosAngeles subreddit, one local resident was spotted cruising down Sawtelle Boulevard with his date while seated comfortably in a motorized papasan lounge chair.
The contraption (truly a thing of ingenuity and beauty) was complete with a cushy footstool.
Apparently the unorthodox chariot was shuttling the couple to a night of karaoke — because of course it was. According to Redditor ReasonsWhyIDrink, "He chained up his contraption to the bike post, and waltzed inside the karaoke bar with a stupid shit eating grin on his face."
Outside the karaoke bar, the mysterious stranger couldn't help but indulge spectators with a few 360 spins.
Naturally, such a spectacular vehicle isn't intended for a one-night use. It needs to be seen by the adoring public! According to another Redditor, the same couple was spotted crossing Pico Boulevard in the motorized chair a few weeks later.
They didn't even bother wearing shoes, they were chilling so hard!
While some are highly amused by the unusual method of transportation, not everyone is in love with the comfy chair. As one Redditor felt compelled to say: "This is some real white people shit."
Regardless of your feelings about getting around town in a motorized lounge chair, you have to admit that it's definitely a nice change of pace from the typical date-night activities. You can keep your damn amateur improv shows, I'm going for a ride in the freaking chair!
