A photo showing a college professor holding his student's child is tugging at heartstrings across America.

Professor holds single mom's son during class, brings her to tears

Little Xzavier's mom Amanda brought him to class at Devry University in Nashville because she didn't have a babysitter.

“I was like, ‘I’m not going to make it to school,’ and that was unacceptable to me, school is like a job,” she told INSIDE EDITION.

So she brought her son to class. During Professor Joel Bunkowske's lecture, Xzavier ran up to the professor, who scooped him up and continued his lecture without missing a beat.

“I have a two-year-old at home," he told IE. "When I’m at home, he wants to get picked up. It’s pretty natural for me."

Amanda couldn't believe what was happening. “It’s so great what my classmates and the professor did. Everybody embraced me, letting me know that everybody goes through this, that it’s ok,” she said.

Hillary Clinton even shared the photo on her Facebook page, saying" “It's time that we create affordable childcare options for those seeking a degree.”

Amanda added: “It’s about the compassion the professor had for me and my situation.”
